It began in the studio and ended in the printshop.

ROLE: Art Direction + Project Management + Book Design + Print Production
CLIENT: Swimmers Group
YEAR: 2015

In 2014 I recognized patterns in the work of artists around me, so I crafted this series to celebrate them. These twenty-six ‘think-books’ captured the energy of collaboration. I visited each artist, collected materials, then designed it with them, deciding each layer of production together.

cg(eye) was designed to be modular.

I’m interested in how people arrive at different solutions for the same puzzle. Bringing this concept to book-making meant deconstructing the elements of a book and reconfiguring them so each reading experience was unique.

It also meant the ‘book’ could be repackaged in a innovative ways. For cg(eye) I created an oversized paper envelope, a complete hand-sewn collection, a hard case (made with plexiglass, metal, and a magnetic binding for readers to re-arrange the zine’s order), as well as a variety of options to collect individual zines.
